Hey Everyone!
So i got into the Disney Cultural Representative Program!
I thought i'd write a blog to kind of document my time here in Florida! I'm getting a head start and explaining the program and sharing my excitement!
So it's nearly christmas, which means i only have about four more months until i leave.
My start date is April 21st 2009, and i'll be returning to Victoria April 16th 2009. Just barley a year, and it shall be fun! So this program is a part of the Disney International Programs, and i basically represent my country (Canada) at Epcot in Walt Disney World for one year. I'm working in food and beverage, so i'll be starting out selling popcorn and such like that..just the easy stuff, and about a month or so later (depending on my progress- which will be excellent!) I'll be moved to fast food.. i'll work that for a couple of months and eventually move up to the restruant ( La Cellier)..i think. This restraunt is tipped.. so that means they'll be dropping my wage down to like $3.75 an hour or something. It's not the best pay, but there are tips and it's like a $80-100 a plate restraunt, so the tips are huge! Again, i'm not here to make money, it's just a great experience and a chance for me to grow and learn a little more about myself!
I'm hopfully getting a package in the mail from Disney next week explaining my living situation and such. I'll be getting an apartment in DisneyWorld. They provide housing, but you have to pay-- sort of like a campus life at University!
So i'm not planning on posting in here until i'm either in DisneyWorld or it's the day before. Very excited, and please leave comments or send me e-mail. I'm going to make tons of friends but i'll miss all of you soo much!
